Tools for throwing on the wheel

Most of you know about tools for throwing on the wheel, and there are many available out there. I like to think I offer a little something extra. The beauty of the woods, of course, and the fact that they are hand made, but more than that. I make them for right handed and left handed throwers. As you will see, I also offer different sizes and shapes.

The S throwing stick allows you to shape and bring out the shoulders on your ceramic work, but you can have a much smaller opening than you could normally have for throwing. This tool is quite large (14" long with a head 1 and 1/2 "), and is $19.00.

The basic, classic throwing stick. Handcrafted from exquisite woods, this is the tool used to open and shape your clay vessel as you turn on the wheel. This tool is 12" long, with a 1" head. The price is $16.00

The itty bitty throwing stick is just what it says. With this tool, you can throw very small vessels. This tool is 8" long with a 1/2" head, and it is only $10.00

This tool is made to facilitate forming a tea cup shape in wheel work. The head is gently curved to slope the walls of the cup. The handle is topped with a tip that allows many uses while forming the cup. I also make one without the curve towards the head, that facilitates mug work. $12.00
